Nori's 1st Bee Day

Three months prior to Nori's birthday I began shopping around my creative ideas for a birthday party theme.  The only thing I knew was that I wanted a DIY (do it yourself) type of thing.  After a lot of Google searching I decided to go with a "Bee Day" theme.  I began creating an idea folder of all kinds of things I wanted to have/use/create to make this party a hit for my baby girls first birthday celebration.

I really wish I had done a better job at snapping pictures. I was trying to live for the moment and didn't quite capture things the way I would have liked. Oh well!

With that said here we go...

This was the envelope to Nori's birthday card that I made.

This was her birthday card

I made the invitations using my Cricut; the bee sticker came from Michael's

I made this banner using the "Create a Critter" Cricut Cartridge

I baked cupcakes (Yellow cake w/ chocolate frosting).
I ordered the fondant cupcake toppers from Edible Designs by Letty
I found her on Etsy; she does amazing work and was really nice. She shipped them to me.

Here is a close up of the toppers, they were so cute.

I ordered a beehive cake pan and sugar bumble bees from Amazon
I used white chocolate for the drizzle.

I dipped pretzels for the first time, it was really easy once
I got my groove and it was a lot of fun to do.
I purchased Nestle chocolate chips and white chocolate bars from Target.
I used Snyder's Hanover Pretzel rods and twist and I included some sugar bumble bees on some.

I created labels for the water and also served lemonade

I'm so mad I didn't get a better picture of the sugar cookies.
The cookies were cute but they were good too. They were a little soft which is the way I like my cookies. They were #1, bumble bees, round circle w/ polka dot design and bee and squares with the letter N on them. I got them from Batches also found on Etsy.

I snapped this picture when they arrived. She did a great job with the wrapping.
Not one cookie was broken.

I purchased these headbands from Amazon and put pipe cleaners on them
and used a hot glue gun to attach the fluff ball.

Here is a close up on the sign

This sign hung on the front door

The party bags had Honeycomb cereal, Honey flavored Teddy Grahams, and
a chocolate dipped pretzel with sprinkles.

This is what they looked like. I put them in bags with a polka dot ribbon around them.

I made this sign, put it in a picture frame and put it on the food table.

I ordered her shirt from Sewing by Grace on Etsy.
The denim mini was gifted from Santa and her adorable shoes
were a great Target find (online only).

Here is a better view of the shirt. We skipped the tights since we had beautiful weather.

While I totally sucked at capturing the moment I managed to get a picture
of the birthday girl with Mommy, Da-Da and Bruba.

Sometimes it just bee's like that.
